The Torch High Technology Industry Development Center (Torch Center) of the Ministry of Science and Technology recently released the results of a comprehensive assessment of the performance of national high-tech zones in 2021.

Changzhou National High-tech District (CND), which is located in Xinbei district, jumped two spots and ranked 21st out of 168 national high-tech zones in the list.

Wujin National High-tech Industrial Zone (WIZ) climbed three positions over the previous year, ranking 35th in the 2021 list. 

Official statistics showed that in 2021, CND鈥檚 high-tech investment amounted to 20 billion yuan and its high-tech industrial output represented 60.5 percent of the total output. 

In 2021, WIZ鈥檚 high-tech industrial output accounted for 60 percent of the total output. The zone鈥檚 number of valid patents per 10,000 people reached 160, ranking second among the county-level high-tech zones in Jiangsu province.
